If the date stamp showed you what time I posted this (on a Friday night), you’d see just how much I love projects. I always have, especially as a little kid. I’ve been working on tonight’s little endeaveur for a couple of days and if it wasn’t for Sarah’s urging, I probably would have worked on it straight through dinnertime without eating.
If previous projects are any indication, some of you will respond to the upcoming one with the never-as-clever-as-they-hope “You must have too much time on your hands” accusation. Actually, I’ve never felt like I have lots of time on my hands because there are always so many engaging little projects to do.
That despised little “time on your hands” accusation makes me wonder what those people are doing while I’m doing my thing? Watching the tube? Playing with pets? Sleeping?! Do these activities innoculate them from the TMTOYH scruteny?
So with this defensive little post, I propose a moratorium on the TMTOYH accusation. Not even as a joke.
Everyone, listen up. There’s been a change to the Five Second Rule you learned about in kindergarten. Thanks to the cutting-edge scientists at Connecticut College, five may not be the magic number of seconds between you and safely-salvaged floor food. Happy Birthday to the best golfer, sports coach, sailor, dog-care expert, party hostess and party goer I know. We’ve sure had a lot of fun with you (in spite of this guy). We hope your lax team wins and Bill is nice to you today!
