Yep. Still here.
Hi.
Every now and then my good friends out there in the internets nudge me when I haven’t been posting enough. Truth is, I had hoped that frequent tweeting would suffice, but I guess that’s like serving heavy appetizers at a wedding. People expect full size dinner plates. With meat. So for you starving guests, I serve this, an update.
The Happy Hambleton family continues to roar on in our little condo. This wasn’t exactly the plan – we’d hoped that it would have been sold by now, since River’s become a very light sleeper and doors and walls is not one of this loft condo’s virtues. (See some of my whining.) The result is that after 8PM, the TV volume must stay so low I cannot hear it, which prompts me to watch TV on my iPhone’s Slingbox and headphones (with a 5 second delay), and I run out to the hallway when my business partner calls me after hours. A “typical” night the last two weeks is one where he’s up 3-4 times between 8PM and 5AM. Sarah and I get pretty sleepy sometimes.
As of this writing, River has six teeth. He’s a skilled floor scrambler, but not really a crawler yet. Peek-a-boo is his national past time. We still go on hour long (or much longer) walks during dry mornings.

River - not much for clean eating yet
He’s eating pureed foods (likes vegetables, loves Cheerios, doesn’t think fruits are very special) and I’m trying to get him into his Actionquest-style hammock.
Each day is a neat little adventure for both of us (probably safe to say all three of us, but I don’t want to speak for River.) We’re smiling a lot, working a lot, and realizing that our two start ups (River and my business) is all about trial, error, and a sense of humor. (And if you’re nodding your head when you read that, you might enjoy one of my favorite new inspirations, a man named Ralph Marston.)
I hope this was satisfying enough for everyone. What did I miss? (Hit up the comments.)

You neglected to mention that River, despite the sleeping glitches, is just about perfect! I know, because I saw! xoxo

agreed! Perfect! Keep after that condo, and chin up, at least there is time for a little TV. Just starting a love affair with “glee.” Making your own baby food? Any tips? I’m a little tentative, and the one time i tried it (squash), it was great but after freezing it turned chunky and there were a lot of turned up noses and screams for Cheerios around here.

Oh my, River is so adorable. His eyes are mesmerizing! We hope next trip west we get to meet him. What fun you two must be having watching him grow. You can sleep later….

Sleep is completely overrated. These updates, however, are not. Keep them coming!
