This entry comes with apologies to my friends who have real home improvement achievements under their belts (Paul, Jared, Brian, Steve….)
I finally satisfied my new year’s resolution and got a medicine cabinet for my bathroom. (I owe thanks to two Hambletons for their support and to two Lahams for their — I can’t believe I’m saying this — excellent advice to go to Restoration Hardware.)

Try and stick with me here. Today a New York Times article (pdf version) reminded me of Cambridge, MA based GreenFuels Technologies Corporation that is poised to make biofuels out of algae. THIS lead me to perhaps the best discovery of the day – PLENTY Magazine, which seems to be all about innovative energy creation and conservation.
I guess Plenty Magazine likes Greenfuel Technologies too, because it listed the company #3 in its top 20 companies to watch. (It was bested by a company backed by Google founders and the battery developer featured in Who Killed the Electric Car movie.) (Plenty Magazine)

This big lunker of a truck was outside the condo tonight with not just one, but two references to me. (They borrowed my name for their telephone number, too.)
Special thanks to the truck’s driver for taking my picture.

Leo Robbins (blue jacket) taught me to sail. He ran the Parks and Recreation sailing department in Ventura from a shed next to the fuel dock. At the end of the class he had to read the exam to me because I didn’t yet know how to read. (More after the jump) Read the rest of this entry »

Anna and Brian’s annual SwapperBowl in Mystic was a great success. None of us let the game distract us from the food, fun presents and Prince! Here are some of the pics.

Though the name sounds like naughty swine behavior, it’s really a (Patent Pending) technology for making bacon in the microwave. Bridget gave us our very first Makin Bacon device (which we have renamed the “Bacon Tree” and the “Bacon Schooner” for reasons that are obvious from these pictures.

This new blogging website management software is the coolest thing since the dustbuster. Now I can easily tell you about stuff I would have written about a long time ago if it hadn’t been such a pain the neck.
But the point of this entry is that way back in November, Sarah and I took the scooter to Martha’s Vineyard (insert your joke here) for some off-season fun. Check out the pictures!
