In Russian poetry, Boris Pasternak's My Sister-Life is the identical of The Waste Land, Spring, and Harmonium. Written in 1917, the cycle of poems in My Sister-Life concentrates on own trips and loves, yet is permeated through the stress and promise of the upcoming October revolution. Pasternak is an uncompromisingly complicated poetic stylist, and his meticulous realization to constitution, etymology, and phonetic characteristics of phrases makes his poetry a powerful problem for the translator.
