How it all went down...

When Sarah and I each lived in Newport, we used to go to a little beach off Ocean Drive and look for sea glass.

I thought it would be great if we went looking for sea glass and found something else instead. To make sure it all went right, I coordinated with my local operative and great friend Mary.

She agreed to help and I sent her a map.

I handed off the ring to Mary on a nice piece of dockline so we'd be able to find the it on the rocky beach.

Just to make sure we could see it, Mary put some sea glass next to the ring. She also put planted a grocery bag "floatsam" uphill on the beach as an indicator.
Next. Mary evacuated all the strangers from the beach, telling them that her friend was about to arrive and propose. At least one group decided to stay and watch the action from the comfort of their car.

See how it turned out
pictures thanks to Mary and friends!

We don't have any idea when we'll get married, or where, or any other
detail that others seem to expect us to have answers to. Please standby!
